TypeRoam Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 28, 2026
TypeRoam is a keyboard and voice productivity app. This policy explains the information processed by the Android app and the TypeRoam backend when you use voice typing, AI text tools, subscriptions, and optional computer connection features.
Who operates the service
TypeRoam is operated by the TypeRoam developer. For privacy questions or requests, contact dabingwu576@gmail.com.
Information we process
- Voice and AI request content. Voice audio, recognized text, text selected for editing, prompts, language settings, and request metadata are processed when you deliberately use voice or AI features.
- Account and sign-in data. When you sign in with Google, we receive a verified Google account identifier and may receive your email address, display name, and profile image. We use the stable account identifier—not an unverified email supplied by the app—to create or recover your TypeRoam account. We also process device identifiers, device model, app version, session tokens, timestamps, and security signals.
- Usage and diagnostics. We record feature type, request counts, voice duration, estimated model usage, success or failure, and related timestamps to enforce free allowances, monitor cost, prevent abuse, and diagnose reliability. We do not intentionally store the text or audio content in these usage records.
- Subscription data. Google Play product IDs, base-plan IDs, billing period, subscription state, renewal time, purchase-token hashes, and encrypted purchase tokens are processed to verify and reconcile access. Payment card details are handled by Google Play and are not received by TypeRoam.
- Settings and shortcuts. Settings or shortcut configurations that you choose to save through the backend may be stored against your account.
- Computer connection data. If you pair a computer, we store its name, platform, pairing state, and last-seen time. Text sent to a paired computer may be held temporarily for reliable delivery and is deleted from the delivery queue within seven days.
Local keyboard data and Android backup
Typing history used by the local learning system, user-dictionary entries, clipboard content, and keyboard preferences are primarily stored on your device. Depending on your Android and Google backup settings, Android may back up eligible app preferences and dictionary data to your Google account. You can control or remove that backup through Android and Google settings. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app removes local data from the device, subject to any Android backup that you separately retain.
Why we process information
- To perform features you request, including speech recognition, text cleanup, editing, command handling, spelling assistance, subscription access, and computer delivery.
- To authenticate your Google account and devices, maintain sessions, grant an eligible introductory account trial, measure allowances, verify purchases, prevent repeated trial claims and other abuse, and keep the service reliable.
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to valid legal requests.
Where laws such as the GDPR apply, these purposes rely on performance of our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in security and reliable operation, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where consent is required.
Service providers and international processing
We do not sell personal data and do not use voice or submitted text for third-party advertising. Information is shared only as needed with service providers that perform work for us:
- Cloudflare for hosting, networking, security, databases, and edge processing.
- OpenRouter and the selected model providers for speech recognition and AI text processing. Voice audio is routed through OpenRouter to OpenAI Whisper Large V3 Turbo, and AI text features are routed through OpenRouter to DeepSeek V4 Flash.
- Google for Sign in with Google, Google Play purchases, subscription management, entitlement verification, and Android backup where enabled by you.
These providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use contractual and technical safeguards intended to protect international transfers.
Retention
- Voice audio and submitted text are proxied for the requested operation and are not intentionally stored in the TypeRoam application database after the request completes. A processing provider may retain data for a limited period under its own service terms and configuration.
- Queued computer-delivery text is removed within seven days.
- Account identity, settings, subscription-verification records, and monthly usage totals are retained while needed to operate your account and are deleted when you use the deletion flow, except for minimal hashed trial-claim, security, dispute, or legally required records.
- Operational logs and backups expire according to the applicable provider's retention cycle.
Your choices and rights
You can stop using voice or AI tools, clear local app data, manage Android backup, and manage or cancel subscriptions in Google Play. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal data, and to complain to a data-protection authority.
Use Settings > About > Delete My Data, read the data deletion instructions, or email us to request deletion. Deleting TypeRoam data does not by itself cancel an active Google Play subscription.
Security
We use HTTPS, authenticated sessions, encrypted purchase tokens, access controls, and server-side secrets. No system is completely secure, but we use reasonable safeguards designed for the nature of the information processed.
Children
TypeRoam is not directed to children under 13, or to a higher minimum age where local law requires it. If you believe a child submitted personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the product, providers, or legal requirements change. The current version and update date will remain available on this page. Contact dabingwu576@gmail.com with privacy questions or requests.
This page is intended to clearly describe TypeRoam's current product practices. Mandatory rights under applicable consumer and data-protection law continue to apply.
